What you do… PARATA!!
5 01 2008As I suspected, our honeymoon has turned into a larder holiday! All we have done is eat and I’m giving my wife all sorts of food to try..
Living in Dubai, you’d be excused for thinking you’ve had the best Parata and Tea (Karak) ever…
Turns out, Singapore, as is the case with a lot of food, has beaten us!

We tried some of the best Parata and Karak ever at this place here, suitably named “What you do Parata!”! It’s at the Food Republic at Wisma Atria on Orchard, I’m sure there are better examples all over Singapore, including Little India, but this one crapped all over our Dubai version! If you come to Singapore, try it…

Let’s all laugh at Manchester United…
19 08 2007Well…
For now at least, everyone knows they’ll come back soon and give people a hard time…
For those of you who have no idea what I’m on about, the English Premiere League started a short while ago and has spat out quite a few surprises…
The biggest being Manchester United unable to win any of their three games, against, arguably crap teams! Manchester United, in case you didn’t know, just lost to Manchester City, 1-0.
I like Manchester City, I’m not a supporter or anything, but they fought United for this win, and Micah Richards was quality! It’s still early days, but to be so many points behind the big teams because of draws against lower ranked teams is a bit of a problem. We’ll see what happens though.
Oh yeah, Ronaldo got sent off! Ha ha ha!
On another note, my team Chelsea drew against Liverpool. Chelsea was awarded a penalty. Now, I’m all for my team winning, but that was NOT a penalty. I think even the Chelsea players were surprised at the decision, guessing by the way they kept going after the incident happened. I like Liverpool, they played very well, but they got the short end of the stick this time. And what’s with Torres diving? He’s as bad as Drogba!
I hate diving…

Aerosmith Live in Dubai
1 06 2007On the 31st of May, 2007, Aerosmith came to Dubai and played. It kicked ass, almost. While the band put on a rather good show, technically it was let down. Aerosmith were full of energy and put on a very energetic show, but their sound dude messed up Steven Tyler’s microphone so badly that he had to change them more than three times during on of the songs!
They played alot of songs like Cryin’, Walk this Way, Dream on and an amazingly kick ass blues track that made people lose bladder control.
I heard that Steven Tyler stormed off stage after the show and punched one of the sound people. Understandable, since there was no need for all the mess-ups that happened with his microphone. Half of the vocals on Walk this Way couldn’t be heard…
I enjoyed the show, it was really hot and sweaty so I wore spandex, and the expected old people at the show enjoyed it too…

Windows Vista with Windows Media Centre, something I never thought I’d go for…
27 05 2007Well, like most nerds, I had a computer lying around collecting dust, it was a pretty beefy machine, designed to play games and I built it with the fastest components at the time. Although, with me having two jobs, I found myself using my laptop more than anything, so it just sat there and collected dust for 8 months…
I decided that I needed to sort out my home theater system, the speakers and sound system were great, but I wanted something that would sort out my massive collection of (Legit) music among other things. So I decided to turn the bugger into a Media Centre.
I bought Windows Vista Home Premium because it comes with the required Windows Media Centre and I didn’t feel like paying more money for the older version. I must say, I have been fighting Vista for a while, mainly because it doesn’t offer much in the way of new features. Having said that, I would’ve used it if it came with a new PC. Anyway, I went out and bought and OEM version and installed it. I have to say that I really like it! It’s really slick and works really well! I also have it running on a massive 37 inch LCD TV!
It’s great! I have one interface to play music, videos, photos, DVDs and Online content, in addition to other add-ons such as a TV tuner and satellite functions. I’ve gotten rid of my DVD player and other boxes and replaced them all with one little machine that can do so much more…
It just makes sense, and now I can’t see how I will ever go back to a conventional system…
I recommend it if you have a system that can take it.

Chelsea: FA Cup winners!
19 05 2007Chelsea beat Manchester United at the new Wembly Stadium to clinch the FA Cup! Wooohooo! Striker Drogba turned what was a very dull game into a win for the blues in the last five minutes of extra time! This makes Chelsea the last winners of the FA Cup at the old Wembly Stadium and the first winners at the new stadium, pretty cool…

Manchester United’s hopes for a treble didn’t exactly die…
They managed to lose the Champions League, The FA Cup and The Carling Cup…
Yuk Yuk!
As usual, I won the bet on who’d cry first…
It was Ronaldo! Har Har Har!
This title is the second for Chelsea, although not as great as winning the league or the Champions League, the FA Cup is one of the oldest cups in the world, nearly 130 years it’s been going! This win also means that while Manchester United won the league, they still didn’t beat the former champions Chelsea, meaning that they don’t deserve it! Just messing, as much as I don’t like Manchester United, they do deserve credit, they are a good team.

ABRI in Bahrain
18 05 2007I just got a call from ABRI keyboardist Julian Symes, apparently the gig in Bahrain went really well! He said the people were really friendly and the turn out was really good. I’m gonna talk to Paul and the rest of the team and see if they have any photos or videos that I can upload…
On another note, the live gig at Chi (The one I missed) went really well, and I heard the recording the other day and it was amazing! Hopefully the single will be out soon and one of those live tracks will be on the it too. The first single Philosophies should be out within the next month or two, finally giving us a chance to see how well the band will do…
Fingers crossed…
Oh yeah, I’m watching Life on Mars Season 2, you have to see it! It’s amazing!
